A three week long, comprehensive overview of basic handbuilding skills—no prior experience needed! Class sessions will be once a week for 3 consecutive weeks. This class is for adults, 18+.

A month-long, comprehensive overview of basic pottery wheel skills—no prior experience needed! Class sessions will be once a week for 4 consecutive weeks.

Over the course of the month, we’ll cover basic pottery wheel techniques including centering, trimming, and glazing! This class focuses on basic forms such as cups, mugs, bowls and plates. Class fee covers all clay, glazes and other supplies as well as kiln firings.

Bootcamp class is a 3 week course designed to refine your skills on the wheel like centering, pulling walls, and making handles. You will go through a series of exercises in each class to get better at those skills to build your confidence on the wheel.

You will make 2-4 matching mugs/pots in this class that you can glaze at an open studio. Most of the pots made in this class will be cut in half to learn from, and recycled!

Intermediate pottery wheel classes will continue to build on skills you’ve learned in beginner’s pottery wheel classes. Topic classes are for students that are confidently able to center larger pieces (2lbs) consistently. These pottery wheel classes are for students who have taken at least one month long beginner’s pottery wheel class with us, or have the ability to confidently center 2lbs of clay and create even, 6-inch tall cylinders. [SEPTEMBER] Form Language: What makes a good pot?

Dive deeper into the structure and aesthetics of your pots. Develop your design and critique skills. We’ll talk about the good, the wonky, and the exceptional while working on intentional pieces of our own! You may choose to focus on a shape such a vase, cup, bowl, or pouring vessel, for example.

[OCTOBER] Ghosts & Pumpkins: Throwing off the hump + closed forms

Learn how to throw “off the hump” while making decorative ghosts! We’ll also practice throwing closed forms and turning them into pumpkins.

[NOVEMBER] Teapots

Learn to make functional teapots on the wheel! We’ll practice throwing spouts, bodies and lids, as well as pulling larger handles.

[DECEMBER] Hand Warming Mugs

Take your mug game to the next level, just in time for winter. We’ll practice throwing efficient mug shapes and manipulating them into ergonomic, handless mugs with a pocket for your fingers!

We host a monthly queer clay club class & potluck to celebrate our LGBTQIA2S+ friends and supporters!
